What can martial arts such as Taekwon-do, kickboxing, Karate do for me or for my child?

Since taekwon-do became a popular civilian activity in the early 1950's, people have been drawn to participate in these sports. Taekwon-do have many psychological, physical and spiritual benefits.

There are a multitude of reasons for taking up martial arts. For children, the most important and immediate result is the development of self confidence. Children begin to feel safe when they know how to defend themselves.

For adults, the initial appeal seems to be the development and maintenance of a fit body.

As training progresses, the development of self confidence, self discipline, flexibility, coordination and balance draw the student to keep working on skills.

The importance of developing friendships cannot be dismissed. Children treasure the friends they find in martial arts and many remain friends for the rest of their lives.

Growing a strong mind, body and spirit are part of the journey in self development that martial arts provide.
